Whisk
- 3 tablespoons Taco seasoning mix
- 1 pound Ground beef
- 1 package Wonton wrapper
- 1 large Egg
- 1 cup Shredded cheese
- 1 cup Salsa
- 1/2 cup Sour cream
- as needed Vegetable oil for frying
Cook ground beef until done, add taco seasoning mix.
Prepare an egg wash by combining 1 egg and 1 tablespoon of water in a small dish and whisking together well.
In a large pot, heat vegetable oil to 350 degrees.
To assemble the wontons, take 1 wonton wrapper, about 2 teaspoons of ground meat, place into the wonton, fold the wrapper over, brush the edges with egg wash, and fold over.
Deep fry until golden and they float. The best judge for deep frying is the color and the fact that it is floating in the oil.
Serve up your Taco Wontons with condiments that you enjoy. Shredded cheese over these and popping them into the oven and turning them into nachos is very popular at my house.
- Tip 1: Store any leftover wontons in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
- Tip 2: You can freeze uncooked wontons! Lay them out on a baking sheet to freeze individually.
- Tip 3: Serve with a fresh salad or some crispy vegetables for a complete meal.
- Tip 4: Experiment with different fillings such as chicken, beans, or veggies.
- Tip 5: Try a spicy ranch or a tangy cilantro lime sauce for something unique.
