Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Frying Pan
  • Chef's Knife
  • Saucepan
  • Large Pot
  • Baking Sheet
  • Oven

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breasts boneless and skinless, cut into 1 inch cubes
  • ½ teaspoon salt or to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper or to taste
  • 2 eggs eggs
  • cups Panko breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons Sriracha sauce
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce low sodium
  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Molasses
  • 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons chives chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400℉ and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Season the chicken cubes with salt and pepper.
  • In a shallow plate, crack open the eggs, season them with a little salt and pepper, then beat them well.
  • Pour the Panko breadcrumbs into another shallow plate.
  • Take each piece of seasoned chicken, dip it first into the egg mixture, then dredge it through the breadcrumbs.
  • Arrange the coated chicken pieces on the baking sheet.
  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 20 to 30 minutes.
  • While the chicken is baking, it’s time to prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan, combine the remaining sauce ingredients.
  • Heat the saucepan over medium-high heat until the mixture begins to boil. Then, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Once the chicken is cooked and crispy, remove it from the oven. Place the cooked chicken pieces in a large mixing bowl, pour the sauce over them, and toss well to ensure each piece is coated.
  • Garnish your Sticky Honey Sriracha Chicken Bites with chopped chives and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • Panko breadcrumbs: These produce a crispier breading.
  • Five spice powder: This is commonly used in Chinese cooking and typically includes a blend of spices.
