  • Pickles

Condiments

  • Mayonnaise or Ranch Dressing To mellow the heat.

Instructions

  • 1. Begin by preparing the chicken. Take 1 pound of boneless, skinless chicken breasts and slice them into fillets.
  • 2. Next, make the marinade. In a bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of hot sauce, 1 teaspoon of paprika, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper. Whisk until well blended.
  • 3. Place the chicken fillets into the marinade, ensuring each piece is thoroughly coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  • 4. While the chicken is marinating, prepare your breading station. In one shallow dish, place 1 cup of all-purpose flour. In a second dish, beat 2 large eggs until smooth. In a third dish, add 1 cup of panko breadcrumbs.
  • 5. Once the chicken has marinated, remove it from the refrigerator. Dredge each piece in the flour, shaking off any excess.
  • 6. Dip the floured chicken into the beaten eggs, ensuring it is fully coated. Allow any excess egg to drip off.
  • 7. Coat the chicken in the panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure adherence. Set aside on a plate.
  • 8. Heat about 1 cup of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Test if the oil is hot enough by dropping a small piece of bread into it.
  • 9. Carefully place the breaded chicken fillets into the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  • 10. Transfer the cooked chicken to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  • 11. Lightly toast the sandwich buns in the skillet or toaster until golden brown.
  • 12. Assemble your sandwich by starting with the bottom bun, adding a piece of crispy chicken, and layering on fresh toppings.
  • 13. Spread your preferred condiments on the top bun, then place it on top of the sandwich.
  • 14. Press gently to secure the sandwich, and your Spicy Homemade Chicken Sandwich is ready to serve!
