Add the egg and whisk until fully incorporated.
Sift in cocoa powder and flour, folding until just combined.
Sprinkle in salt and baking powder, folding gently to combine.
Fold in chopped cherries and chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Slice into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
