Instructions
1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.
3. Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.
4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley.
5. Slice the French bread in half lengthwise and spread the garlic butter mixture over both halves.
6. If using cheese, sprinkle it over the garlic buttered bread.
7. Bake the bread halves on a baking sheet for 10-12 minutes until golden and cheese is melted.
8. Spoon the Sloppy Joe filling over the toasted bread.
9. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to heat through.
10. Let cool for a minute before slicing and serve hot.
