Instructions

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 5-7 minutes.

  • Stir in the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, chili powder, and black pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Gently fold in the drained sweet corn.
  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Pour the Sloppy Joe mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  • Prepare the cornbread mix according to package instructions, combining with egg and milk.
  • Spoon the cornbread mixture over the Sloppy Joe filling.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the cornbread layer.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cornbread topping is golden brown.
