Chicken Thighs

  • 4-6 pieces bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs Preferred for their rich flavor and juicy texture.

Marinade Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce Heart of the marinade, imparts umami flavor.
  • 4 cloves minced garlic Adds aromatic punch.
  • 2 tablespoons honey Contributes sweetness and helps caramelize the chicken.
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil Adds depth of flavor.
  • to taste freshly ground black pepper Adds subtle heat.

Garnish

  • 2 pieces green onions Chopped for garnish.

Instructions
 

  • In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, minced garlic, honey, and sesame oil. Whisk until well blended.
  • Place chicken thighs in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour marinade over chicken, ensuring each piece is coated. Seal and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Remove chicken from refrigerator. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. Place chicken thighs skin side up on the sheet.
  • Season chicken with black pepper.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and skin is golden brown.
  • Baste chicken with pan juices halfway through cooking.
  • Let chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Transfer chicken to a platter, drizzle with pan juices, and garnish with green onions.

For variations, consider adding citrus zest, red pepper flakes for heat, or additional vegetables for a one-pan meal.
