Instructions
Measure 4 cups of all-purpose flour into a large mixing bowl and create a well in the center.
In a separate bowl, combine 2 teaspoons of active dry yeast with 1 ½ cups of warm water and let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
Pour the yeast mixture into the well in the flour, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 1 teaspoon of salt, and mix until a shaggy dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Shape the dough into a ball, place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
Punch down the dough, divide it into two portions, and let rest for 20-30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 475°F to 500°F and roll out the dough to desired thickness.
Add sauce, cheese, and toppings, then bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing.
Notes
Customize your dough with herbs, whole wheat flour, or cheese-stuffed crust for added flavor.
