Dumpling Ingredients

Instructions
 

  • 1. Prepare your ingredients: Dice the chicken, chop the carrots, celery, and onion, and mince the garlic.
  • 2. In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion, carrot, and celery. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until soft.
  • 3. Add minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.
  • 4. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • 5. Add diced chicken, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 15-20 minutes until tender.
  • 6. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Whisk together.
  • 7. Add milk to the dry mixture and stir until just combined.
  • 8. Drop spoonfuls of the dumpling batter into the simmering broth.
  • 9. Cover the pot and reduce heat to low. Let dumplings steam for about 15 minutes.
  • 10. Check if dumplings are cooked through and fluffy. Stir the broth gently and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  • 11. Serve hot in bowls, ensuring each serving has chicken, dumplings, and broth.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days. Reheat gently on the stove.
