Crust and Crumble Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rolled Oats Use old-fashioned oats for best results.
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter Softened to room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder Helps the crumble become light and airy.

  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon Adds warmth and depth to the flavors.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, and oats to the mixture and mix well.
  • Gradually incorporate all-purpose flour until a crumbly dough forms.
  • Set aside 1 cup of the mixture for the crumble topping and press the remaining dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  • In another bowl, mix blackberries with 1/4 cup of sugar and toss to coat.
  • Spoon the blackberry mixture evenly over the pressed dough.
  • Sprinkle the reserved crumble mixture evenly over the blackberries.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the filling bubbles.
  • Allow to cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally with ice cream.
