Choose bright green, firm beans.

Sliced Almonds

Instructions
Wash and trim the green beans. Set aside.
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Blanch the green beans for 3-4 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
Transfer the beans to a bowl of ice water to stop cooking. Cool for 5 minutes, then drain.
Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Add sliced almonds and toast for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add the blanched green beans and toss to coat in the almond mixture. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Squeeze lemon juice over the mixture and toss again.
Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with remaining toasted almonds.
Notes
For variations, consider adding other vegetables or herbs, or substituting butter with olive oil for a lighter option.
