Ingredients

Steak

  • 1.5 pounds Tender cut of beef (sirloin or tenderloin) Well-marbled for juiciness

Olive Oil

  • 2 tablespoons Extra virgin olive oil For searing the steak

Garlic

  • 4-5 cloves Fresh garlic, minced Key flavor component

Onion

Salt

  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt For seasoning

Pepper

  • 0.5 teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper Adds a subtle kick

Fresh Parsley

  • 1 handful Fresh parsley, finely chopped For garnish

Instructions

  • Trim excess fat from the steak and cut it into 1-inch cubes. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Once hot, add the steak bites in a single layer and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Remove the steak bites and cover with foil to keep warm. In the same skillet, add chopped onions and sauté until soft and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add minced garlic and stir for another minute until fragrant. Pour in beef broth and scrape the bottom of the pan to deglaze.
  • Let the broth simmer for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened. Return steak bites to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
  • Sprinkle chopped parsley over the steak bites and serve hot, optionally over rice or mashed potatoes.

Notes

For variations, consider adding citrus juice, red pepper flakes, or Worcestershire sauce for extra flavor.
