Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a small bowl, combine melted butter with minced garlic.
Cut the French bread loaf in half lengthwise and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush garlic butter mixture over the cut sides.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
Add chopped onions and diced bell peppers to the skillet and sauté for another 5-6 minutes until tender.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup of shredded provolone cheese until melted.
Spread the cheesesteak mixture evenly over the garlic buttered bread halves.
Sprinkle the remaining cup of provolone cheese over the filled bread.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving warm.
Notes
For variations, consider adding jalapeños for spice, using different cheeses, or making a vegetarian version with mushrooms and zucchini.
