Instructions
In a small bowl, combine warm water, active dry yeast, and granulated sugar. Stir gently and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well.
Pour the yeast mixture into the flour mixture along with the eggs. Mix until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
While the dough rises, cook the ground sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Let it cool slightly.
In a bowl, combine the cooked sausage, beaten eggs, and cheddar cheese. Mix well.
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle.
Spread the sausage filling evenly across the dough, leaving a border.
Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 12 pieces. Place in a greased baking dish.
Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Brush the tops with melted butter and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Enjoy warm or store for later!
