  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese Softened at room temperature.
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 large Egg Acts as a binding agent.
  • 8 slices Bread Brioche or challah recommended.
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour For coating.
  • as needed cups Cooking Oil For frying.
  • to taste tablespoons Powdered Sugar For garnish.

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and egg. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  • Gently fold in the sliced strawberries.
  • Spread the filling onto four slices of bread and top with another slice to form sandwiches.
  • Set up a dredging station with flour and a beaten egg.
  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Coat each sandwich in flour, then dip in egg, and return to flour for a second coating.
  • Fry sandwiches in hot oil for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days.
