Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for 4-5 minutes until translucent.
Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
Add sliced mushrooms and cook for 6-8 minutes until tender.
Season cube steak with salt and pepper on both sides.
Sear the cube steak in the same skillet for 3-4 minutes on each side.
Remove the steak, slice it into bite-sized pieces, and set aside.
Mix flour with a little beef broth to create a slurry.
Deglaze the skillet with the remaining beef broth, scraping up browned bits.
Stir in heavy cream and the flour slurry, cooking until slightly thickened.
Layer sliced cube steak in a casserole dish, followed by the mushroom mixture and creamy sauce.
Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
Let sit for 5 minutes before serving, garnished with fresh parsley.
