  • 1.5 pounds Cube Steak Tenderized and cut from the chuck or round.
  • 8 ounces Fresh Mushrooms Preferably button or cremini, sliced.
  • 1 medium Onion Diced.
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream For a rich and creamy sauce.
  • 1 cup Beef Broth To deepen the flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour To thicken the sauce.
  • to taste Salt and Pepper For seasoning.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil For sautéing the vegetables.

Garnish

  • to taste Fresh Parsley Chopped, for garnish.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for 4-5 minutes until translucent.
  • Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  • Add sliced mushrooms and cook for 6-8 minutes until tender.
  • Season cube steak with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Sear the cube steak in the same skillet for 3-4 minutes on each side.
  • Remove the steak, slice it into bite-sized pieces, and set aside.
  • Mix flour with a little beef broth to create a slurry.
  • Deglaze the skillet with the remaining beef broth, scraping up browned bits.
  • Stir in heavy cream and the flour slurry, cooking until slightly thickened.
  • Layer sliced cube steak in a casserole dish, followed by the mushroom mixture and creamy sauce.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  • Let sit for 5 minutes before serving, garnished with fresh parsley.
