  • 1 loaf French Bread A long loaf, around 12 inches long.
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter Softened to room temperature.
  • 4-6 cloves Fresh Garlic Minced finely.
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley Finely chopped.
  • 1 pinch Salt Kosher or sea salt recommended.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper Freshly ground.
  • 1 pinch Red Pepper Flakes Optional for added heat.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Slice the French bread in half lengthwise using a serrated knife.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter and minced fresh garlic. Mix until well blended.
  • Add the chopped fresh parsley to the butter mixture and stir well.
  • Season with salt and black pepper. Add red pepper flakes if desired.
  • Spread the cowboy butter mixture generously over the cut sides of the French bread.
  • Place the bread on a baking sheet cut side up and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • For extra crispiness, broil for an additional 1-2 minutes, watching closely.
  • Allow to cool for a minute, then slice into pieces and serve immediately.

Notes
