Softened to room temperature.

Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Slice the French bread in half lengthwise using a serrated knife.
In a medium bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter and minced fresh garlic. Mix until well blended.
Add the chopped fresh parsley to the butter mixture and stir well.
Season with salt and black pepper. Add red pepper flakes if desired.
Spread the cowboy butter mixture generously over the cut sides of the French bread.
Place the bread on a baking sheet cut side up and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
For extra crispiness, broil for an additional 1-2 minutes, watching closely.
Allow to cool for a minute, then slice into pieces and serve immediately.
