Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
Melt the unsalted butter in a large mixing bowl and allow it to cool slightly.
Add the granulated sugar to the bowl and whisk until well combined.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
Gently fold in the red food coloring until evenly distributed.
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes, then lift them out and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
For the frosting, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth and creamy.
Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until fully incorporated. If too thick, add heavy cream until desired consistency is reached.
Stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
Spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the cooled brownies.
Cut into squares or rectangles and serve.
Notes
Store leftover brownies in an airtight container for up to three days at room temperature or a week in the refrigerator.
