  • 4 slices Bread Thick-cut sourdough or brioche recommended.
  • 4 tablespoons Butter Unsalted, for grilling the bread.

Instructions
 

  • 1. Form the ground beef into two patties, about ½ inch thick, and season with salt and pepper.
  • 2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  • 3. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them.
  • 4. Flip the burgers, add cheese on top, and cover to melt.
  • 5. Butter one side of each bread slice.
  • 6. Remove burgers and let rest for a minute.
  • 7. Toast the buttered bread in the same skillet until golden brown.
  • 8. Assemble the burgers with toppings between two slices of toasted bread.
  • 9. Cut in half and serve immediately.
