Instructions
Line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy removal.
In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk. Stir until melted and smooth.
Sift in cocoa powder and salt, stirring until fully combined.
Remove from heat and stir in peppermint extract.
Fold in crushed peppermint candies, reserving some for garnish.
Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Tap the pan to eliminate air bubbles.
If using, melt white chocolate chips and drizzle over the fudge. Sprinkle reserved crushed candies on top.
Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours until firm.
Lift the fudge out using the parchment overhang, cut into squares, and serve.
