  • Add olive oil gradually while mixing to create a smooth base.
  • Toss in the chopped fresh basil for aromatic quality.
  • Pour in the freshly squeezed lemon juice to balance the richness.
  • Season with salt and pepper, adjusting to taste.
  • If using nuts, add them to the mixture now.
  • Pulse the mixture in a food processor until desired consistency is reached.
  • Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary.
  • Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.
