  • 1 pound Chicken Breast Fresh, boneless, and skinless, cut into bite-sized pieces.
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour For coating the chicken.
  • 2 large Eggs Beaten, for binding the flour coating.
  • 2 cups Vegetable Oil For frying the chicken.
  • 1 cup Fresh Orange Juice For the sauce.
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar Adds sweetness to the sauce.
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce Low-sodium, for flavor.
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced, for aromatic flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger Freshly grated, for flavor.

Instructions
 

  • Begin by preparing the chicken. Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces.
  • Set up a breading station: beat the eggs in one bowl and place the flour in another bowl, seasoned with salt and pepper.
  • Dip each piece of chicken into the egg mixture, then coat in flour. Set aside.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Test the oil with a small piece of flour.
  • Fry the chicken in batches for 4-5 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  • In a saucepan, combine orange juice, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  • Add the fried chicken to the sauce and toss to coat. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and serve over rice or with stir-fried vegetables.

Notes

For a spicy twist, add red pepper flakes to the sauce. You can also bake the chicken for a healthier version.
