  • 1 cup Popcorn kernels Approximately 1 cup of kernels makes around 8 cups of popped popcorn.
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter Melted to bind the popcorn together.
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar Essential for sweetening the popcorn.
  • 1/2 cup Light corn syrup Helps keep the popcorn moist and binds the ingredients.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt Balances the sweetness of the sugar.
  • a few drops Food coloring Optional for adding color to the popcorn.
  • 1 cup Candy toppings Customize with chocolate chips, sprinkles, or mini marshmallows.

Instructions
 

  • Pop the popcorn kernels using a popcorn maker or stovetop method. Place the popped popcorn in a large mixing bowl.
  • In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.
  • Add granulated sugar and light corn syrup to the melted butter. Stir until smooth and bubbly, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and add a pinch of salt. If using, add food coloring and stir well.
  • Pour the melted mixture over the popped popcorn and gently fold until evenly coated.
  • Allow the mixture to cool for 5-10 minutes, then grease hands and form into balls about the size of a golf ball.
  • Roll each ball in candy toppings if desired, then place on a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool completely.
  • Let the popcorn balls set for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Customize with different flavored popcorn or toppings.
