  • 1 medium Red Bell Pepper Thinly sliced to enhance sweetness and color.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced for aromatic depth.
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil Used for sautéing the vegetables.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Essential for seasoning.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper Freshly ground for warmth.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning A blend of herbs for added flavor.
  • 8 ounces Provolone Cheese Sliced, melts beautifully.
  • 4 hoagie rolls Hoagie Rolls Soft yet sturdy for holding the filling.
  • Optional Toppings Sliced jalapeños, hot sauce, or pickles.

Instructions
 

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil and warm for a minute.
  • Add sliced onions and bell peppers to the skillet. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until tender and caramelized. Add minced garlic in the last minute.
  • In a separate bowl, season ground beef with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix well.
  • Push vegetables to one side of the skillet and add seasoned ground beef. Cook for 8-10 minutes, breaking apart as it cooks until browned.
  • Mix beef with sautéed vegetables and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to low and layer sliced provolone cheese over the mixture. Cover to melt cheese.
  • Prepare hoagie rolls, toasting if desired.
  • Scoop the beef and vegetable mixture into hoagie rolls and serve hot. Offer optional toppings on the side.
