Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together flour, ½ cup of sugar, and a pinch of salt.
Pour in melted butter and combine until crumbly.
Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking pan.
Bake the crust for about 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
While the crust bakes, melt the German chocolate in a saucepan over low heat.
In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of sugar, eggs, and melted butter. Beat until light and frothy.
Add the melted chocolate and stir until fully incorporated.
Fold in pecans and coconut.
Pour the filling over the pre-baked crust and spread evenly.
Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes until firm.
Allow to cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Cut into squares or rectangles and serve.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days or refrigerate for a longer shelf life.
