Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh salmon fillet Choose a wild-caught or farmed salmon fillet with a bright color and firm texture.
  • 1/4 cup honey Use pure honey for the best flavor.
  • 3 cloves garlic Freshly minced garlic adds a robust aroma and flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Opt for low-sodium soy sauce to control the saltiness.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil A good quality olive oil helps to cook the salmon evenly.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice Freshly squeezed lemon juice brightens up the dish.
  • to taste salt and pepper Basic seasonings to enhance flavors.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds Optional, for added texture and nutty flavor.
  • to taste fresh parsley or green onions Optional, for garnish.

Instructions

  • 1. Prepare the Salmon: Rinse the salmon fillet under cold water and pat it dry. Cut it into bite-sized pieces, about 1 to 2 inches in size.
  • 2. Make the Honey Garlic Sauce: In a small bowl, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, olive oil, and lemon juice. Whisk until well combined.
  • 3. Marinate the Salmon: In a large bowl, add salmon pieces and pour the honey garlic sauce over them. Toss to coat and marinate for about 15 minutes.
  • 4. Cook the Salmon: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add marinated salmon pieces in a single layer. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  • 5. Glaze the Salmon: Pour any remaining honey garlic sauce into the skillet and simmer for a minute, coating the salmon bites.
  • 6. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat, sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped herbs if desired. Serve immediately.
