  • 1 9-inch pre-made pie crust Store-bought or homemade.
  • 1 pound fresh asparagus Trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces.
  • 4 large eggs Foundation of the quiche filling.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Can substitute with half-and-half.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Gruyère or cheddar recommended.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Enhances flavors.
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper Freshly ground for best flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder Adds savory depth.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For sautéing asparagus.
  • to taste fresh herbs Optional for garnish.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Prepare the pie crust by pressing it into a 9-inch pie dish and pricking the bottom with a fork.
  • Pre-bake the crust for about 10 minutes until lightly golden.
  • Wash and trim the asparagus, then sauté in olive oil for 3-4 minutes until just tender.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until smooth.
  • Fold in the shredded cheese and sautéed asparagus into the egg mixture.
  • Pour the filling into the pre-baked pie crust and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
  • Let the quiche cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

This quiche can be served warm, at room temperature, or chilled. It’s perfect for brunch or as a light lunch.
