Instructions
In a small bowl, combine 1 cup of warm milk and 2 ¼ teaspoons of active dry yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 4 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and ½ teaspoon of salt.
In a separate bowl, beat one large egg and mix in one-third cup of softened unsalted butter. Combine this mixture with the foamy yeast and milk.
Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
Prepare the cheesecake filling by mixing 8 ounces of softened cream cheese, ½ cup of granulated sugar, and a splash of lemon juice until smooth.
Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently and roll it out into a rectangle, approximately 12x18 inches.
Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the rolled-out dough and sprinkle one cup of blueberries on top.
Starting from one long side, roll the dough into a tight log and cut it into 12 equal pieces.
Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
Prepare a glaze by mixing 1 cup of powdered sugar with a few tablespoons of milk until smooth.
Once baked, let the rolls cool slightly before drizzling with the glaze.
Notes
These rolls can be served warm or chilled and are perfect for any occasion.
