  • 1/4 cup Cornstarch For coating the tofu to enhance crispiness.
  • 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce Use low-sodium for a healthier option.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Enhances flavor without overpowering.
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder Adds depth and sweetness.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper Adjust according to spice preference.
  • Vegetable Oil For frying, enough to cover the bottom of the pan.

Instructions
 

  • Press the tofu to remove excess moisture for about 15-20 minutes.
  • Cut the pressed tofu into cubes or slabs.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Whisk until blended.
  • Marinate the tofu pieces in the mixture for at least 15 minutes.
  • Coat the marinated tofu in cornstarch.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Fry the tofu pieces for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove the tofu and place it on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  • Serve hot, garnished with green onions or sesame seeds.
