Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Cook the Pasta. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Step 2: Brown the Meat. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef or turkey, breaking it apart. Cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  • Step 3: Sauté Vegetables. Add diced onion and bell pepper to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  • Step 4: Add Seasoning. Sprinkle taco seasoning over the mixture. Stir well to coat and allow spices to toast for about 1 minute.
  • Step 5: Incorporate the Broth. Pour in chicken broth, stirring to combine. Bring to a gentle simmer for about 3-4 minutes.
  • Step 6: Make it Creamy. Reduce heat to low and add heavy cream, stirring continuously. Let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
  • Step 7: Combine with Pasta. Add cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat in the creamy sauce. Add more chicken broth if sauce is too thick.
  • Step 8: Add Cheese. Stir in shredded cheese until melted. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • Step 9: Garnish and Serve. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped cilantro. Serve immediately with optional toppings.
