Equipment

  • Wooden Spoon
  • Whisk
  • Blender

Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 4 tsp Baking Powder
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 ½ cups Milk
  • 6 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  • Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 4 teaspoons of baking powder, and ½ teaspoon of salt. Whisk them together until well combined.
  • Warm 1 ½ cups of milk in the microwave for about one minute, or heat gently on the stove until slightly warm.
  • In another bowl, whisk together 2 eggs, the warmed milk, 6 tablespoons of melted butter, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Make sure this mixture is well blended.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined; a few lumps are okay.
  • Carefully scoop an appropriate amount into the preheated waffle iron and spread it slightly.
  • Close the lid on the waffle iron and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crisp, usually about three to five minutes.
  • Open the waffle iron and carefully remove the waffles with a fork or spatula. If not serving immediately, place them on a cooling rack.
  • Serve warm with your favorite toppings like syrup or fruit.

Notes

  • To reheat: Place frozen waffles in a toaster until heated through and crisp.
  • If using salted butter: Reduce salt in the recipe to just ¼ tsp.
