  • 1 lb Ground Beef Use high-quality ground beef, ideally with an 80/20 ratio.
  • 2 large Yellow Onions Thinly sliced.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt For seasoning the beef and onions.
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black Pepper Freshly ground.
  • 4 pieces Hamburger Buns Soft buns that can hold the juiciness of the burger.
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil For frying the onions.

Instructions
 

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
  • Add the thinly sliced onions to the skillet and cook for about 10 to 15 minutes until caramelized.
  • Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and form into patties about ¾ inch thick.
  • Season both sides of each patty with salt and black pepper.
  • Remove the caramelized onions from the skillet and set aside. Cook the beef patties for about 3 to 4 minutes on one side.
  • Flip the patties, top with caramelized onions, and cover the skillet to melt cheese if desired.
  • Toast the hamburger buns lightly in a separate pan or on the grill.
  • Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun and adding any desired toppings.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!
