Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups Milk
  • 1/2 cups Butter cut into pieces
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1 tbsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 3/4 cups Whipped Cream Cheese softened
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • 1/4 cups Brown Sugar
  • 4 tbsp Melting Butter
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon

Instructions

  • First, gather your ingredients: milk, butter, eggs, vanilla, flour, baking powder, salt, whipped cream cheese, sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, and cinnamon. This will make the process smoother!
  • In a measuring cup, add the milk and pieces of butter. Heat it in the microwave for about 60 to 90 seconds on high power until the butter is almost melted. This step ensures that the butter combines smoothly into the batter.
  • Next, pour the warm milk mixture into a large mixing bowl. Add the eggs and vanilla extract. Whisk these ingredients together until they are fully combined, creating a smooth, creamy base.
  • Now, add the flour, baking powder, and salt to the wet ingredients. Mix gently until just combined. Don’t worry about small lumps; they will bake out during cooking.
  • Let the batter rest for about 5 minutes. During this time, preheat your waffle iron and grease it if necessary. This will ensure your waffles don’t stick and come out perfectly crisp.
  • Once the batter has rested, carefully pour it into the hot waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions. For my waffle iron, I found that one cup of batter cooked perfectly for 4 and a half minutes, but this can vary.
  • While the Cinnamon Roll Waffles are cooking, prepare the cream cheese topping. In a separate bowl, whisk together the whipped cream cheese, sugar, and another splash of vanilla. Keep this mixture handy for drizzling later.
  • Next, create the cinnamon topping by combining the brown sugar, melted butter, and cinnamon in another bowl. Mix until you have a smooth, pourable consistency.
  • When the waffles are done, carefully remove them from the waffle iron. Drizzle generously with the cream cheese topping and the cinnamon topping. This is where the magic happens – the flavors come alive!
  • Finally, serve the Cinnamon Roll Waffles warm, and enjoy them right away. They are absolutely delightful!

Notes

  • Tip 1: Invest in a good waffle iron. A high-quality appliance ensures even cooking and perfect texture every time.
  • Tip 2: Don’t skip the resting time for the batter. This allows the flour to hydrate and helps create fluffier waffles.
  • Tip 3: Using warm ingredients like melted butter and warm milk can help create a better batter consistency.
  • Tip 4: Experiment with toppings! Besides cream cheese frosting, try fresh fruits, whipped cream, or even a drizzle of caramel for added indulgence.
