Ingredients
  

Pasta

  • 2 cups Orzo Pasta Uncooked, yields about 4 cups once cooked.

Meat

  • 1 pound Ground Beef Lean ground beef for a hearty base.

Dairy

  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese Shredded sharp cheddar for a creamy sauce.
  • 1 cup Milk Whole milk recommended for creaminess.

Vegetables

  • 1 medium Onion Finely chopped.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced.

Broth

  • 2 cups Beef Broth Low-sodium for flavor.

Seasonings

  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika Optional.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning Optional.

Garnish

  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Parsley Chopped, for garnish.

Instructions
 

  • 1. Cook the orzo in a large pot of boiling salted water for 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  • 2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  • 3. Add the chopped onion to the skillet and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute.
  • 4. Drain the orzo and add it to the skillet with the beef mixture. Stir to combine.
  • 5. Pour in the beef broth and milk, stirring well to combine.
  • 6. Gradually add the cheddar cheese, stirring continuously until melted.
  • 7. Season with salt, pepper, and optional seasonings. Stir to incorporate.
  • 8. Allow to simmer on low heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • 9. Adjust seasoning if needed and garnish with parsley before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of milk.
