Ingredients
  

Chicken

  • 1.5 pounds Boneless, skinless chicken breasts Cut into bite-sized pieces.

Coating

  • 1 cup Cornstarch For coating the chicken.
  • 1 large Egg Acts as a binding agent.
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil Enhances crispiness.

Sauce

  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced Adds aromatic flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, grated Adds a warm, zesty flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce Base of the sauce.
  • 1/4 cup Hoisin Sauce Adds sweetness and depth.
  • 1 tablespoon Chili Garlic Sauce For heat and spice.
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar Balances savory flavors.
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil Adds a rich, nutty flavor.

Garnish

  • Green Onions, chopped For garnish.
  • Sesame Seeds, toasted For garnish.

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces.
  • Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg and vegetable oil. Add the chicken pieces and mix well.
  • Step 3: Sprinkle the cornstarch over the marinated chicken and mix until all pieces are coated.
  • Step 4: Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Step 5: Place the coated chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  • Step 6: Air fry the chicken for 10-12 minutes, shaking halfway through.
  • Step 7: While the chicken cooks, prepare the sauce by combining garlic, ginger, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, chili garlic sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil in a saucepan. Simmer until thickened.
  • Step 8: Once the chicken is cooked, toss it in the sauce to coat.
  • Step 9: Serve the chicken garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer to maintain crispiness.
