Ingredients
  

Chicken

  • 2 pieces Boneless, skinless chicken breasts About 1 pound total, uniform thickness for even cooking.

Breading

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour Creates a light coating for the chicken.
  • 2 large Eggs Beaten, acts as a binding agent.
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs Plain or Italian-seasoned for crunch.
  • ½ cup Grated Parmesan cheese Freshly grated for robust flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano Adds aromatic flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder Adds depth and savory note.
  • ½ teaspoon Salt Enhances flavors.
  • ¼ teaspoon Black pepper Freshly ground for a hint of spice.

Sauce and Cheese

  • 1 cup Marinara sauce Choose your favorite brand or homemade.
  • 1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese Key for the gooey topping.

Garnish

  • Fresh basil leaves Optional, for garnish.
  • Cooking spray To coat the chicken before air frying.

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the chicken by placing it between plastic wrap and pound to an even thickness of about ½ inch.
  • Set up the breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and a mixture of breadcrumbs, Parmesan, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Bread the chicken by coating it in flour, dipping in eggs, and pressing into the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and place the breaded chicken in a single layer. Spray the tops lightly and cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Add marinara sauce over the cooked chicken and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  • Return to the air fryer and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve immediately.

Notes

Consider using different cheeses or breadcrumbs for variations. Serve with pasta, salad, or crusty bread.
