Ingredients
  

Chicken Pieces

  • 2-3 pounds Chicken (bone-in or boneless) Thighs, drumsticks, or breasts.

Barbecue Sauce

  • 1 cup Barbecue Sauce Store-bought or homemade.

Oil

  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Can substitute with avocado or canola oil.

Spices

  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • to taste Salt Use kosher salt for best results.
  • to taste Pepper Freshly ground black pepper.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes Optional for added heat.

Instructions
 

  • 1. Prepare the Chicken: Rinse the chicken pieces under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  • 2. Season the Chicken: In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Coat the chicken pieces and marinate for 15-20 minutes.
  • 3. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • 4. Add BBQ Sauce: Coat the marinated chicken with half of the barbecue sauce.
  • 5. Air Fry the Chicken: Arrange chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 18-22 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • 6. Baste with Sauce: In the last 5 minutes, brush the chicken with the remaining barbecue sauce.
  • 7. Check for Doneness: Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  • 8. Rest and Serve: Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving with additional barbecue sauce.

Notes
